SAN ANTONIO -8½ -106 over Atlanta

8:30 PM EST. The Hawks don't win often, but when they do, as they did in a 123-110 decision over Phoenix on Tuesday night, they are a prime fade target the next time out. On most nights, the Hawks are dregs, as they sport the second-worst record in the East. Prior to that win over Phoenix, Atlanta lost by double-digits to Brooklyn (108-86) and Washington (111-101). Perhaps the Hawks are capable of stringing together quality performances, but the reality is the Hawks are in a tough spot here with a one-off roadie to Texas before returning back to the ATL for games against Eastern Conference foes in the Pistons and the defending champion Raptors.

The Spurs are coming off a loss on the road in Miami, which has them at under .500 at the halfway point of the season for the first since 1996-97. A slow start to the season and that most recent result makes them a prime "buy low" candidate at home tonight. It's not that the Spurs aren't talented, as they feature DeMar DeRozan, who has been on a tear recently by racking up 30 points or more in four of his last seven and at least 20 points in a dozen straight games. On that four-game road trip, the Spurs did go 2-2, but their wins were against quality competition in Toronto (105-104) and Boston (129-114). The Spurs are also one of the six in the Bucks league-leading 37-6 record after a home win over Milwaukee on January 6. It wasn't just a win, it was a beating, 126-104.
