8:35 PM EST. We trust we found a great spot to fade the Spurs in and the opponent just so happens to be the Pelicans, who are right in the middle of the Anthony Davis debacle. The Pels have dropped six of eight so their stock is low to begin with but don’t think for a second that they’re not capable of pulling off the upset here. Obviously, we love the Pels taking back double-digits but at near 5-1 odds, we’re going for the gusto.

The angle here is that this is the Spurs final game of four game homestand in which they went 3-0 to run their winning streak to four games so there is no sense of urgency. The catch is that San Antonio is heading out for a season long and grueling eight-game trip after this one that will see them be on the road for the next 20 days. There is a boatload of personal preparation that each player has to go through before a trip this long. Furthermore, road trips are what NBA players look forward to, as they get away from home and get to hang out with their buddies and who knows who else. We expect the Spurs to be ripe for the pickings here and if the Pels show up and play hard, this one is winnable.
