9:00 PM EST. The Suns are a mess. They've lost eight of their last nine games and have minimal standing in the market, so why are we attacking them here? Because this team is capable of going down by a ton at any time, as they proved in losses to Brooklyn (104-82), San Antonio (120-90), Memphis (117-96), Golden State (123-103) and Denver (119-91). Now, there may be little shame is getting blasted by the Warriors or Nuggets, but with the Spurs down and the Grizzlies and Nets being two of the worst teams you'll find, there is a lot to be concerned about. After getting stomped by the Nets last time out, Suns leading scorer Devin Booker ripped the team's effort, "We're not comfortable with each other. We don't step on each other's toes. We don't push each other, and I think that's what we need to do. We came in here and got (blown) out in front of our fans, so it's embarrassing." The Suns are second in the NBA with 18½ turnovers per game and they are allowing opponents to shoot 50.1% against them, also second worst. Phoenix is on a downward spiral and this ornery Celtics side is the last team they need coming to town.

t's not often you'll find us spotting near double digits on the road in any sport let alone the NBA, but we trust we’ve found the right time to make an exception. The Celtics need little introduction here, as they were widely expected to overtake the LeBron-less Cavaliers as the class team of the Eastern Conference. However, with great expectations comes greater responsibility and the C’s and their backers have found that out the hard way this season, as Boston is just 4-6 against the spread. The Celtics have had an awful roadie so far after dropping back-to-back games in Denver and Indiana respectively. Boston has also been tough to trust when spotting a significant number, as its 0-3 when favored by six points or more and it lost outright to the Magic as an 11½-point fav earlier this year. A peek under the hood shows us that the Celtics are going to be just fine, but they were no doubt overvalued to start the season. This is a what have you done for me lately market and Boston has cashed only one ticket in its last three games, as it beat the Bucks 117-113 as 2½-point chalk. The lasting image of the Celtics loss in Denver on Monday night was Kyrie Irving throwing the ball into the stands after the game. Irving was angry about how Nuggets guard Jamal Murray took a last-second three to score 50-points even though the game was in hand. It was a bush league move and unfortunately for the Suns, they're on deck. The Celtics may have been a sleeping giant, but after being disrespected in Denver, they could be wide awake for this one. Fee-fi-fo-fum ---swallow these points.
