8:35 PM EST. What a great weekend. The sun is shining on the first weekend of May and there is a confluence of great sports to watch on TV tonight. Baseball is in full flight, NBA and NHL playoffs are thrilling and the Run for the Roses is the appetizer about 6:30 PM EST. The only folks that this is not a great weekend for are the Toronto Raptors, who absolutely must have a feeling of inevitably. Inevitably, they are going down to the Cavs again. Lebron James owns this team like Michael Jordan owned the Knicks and the Pacers back in the day. LeBron toyed with the Raps like he’s been doing for years only this year it is worse than ever because the Raps have a rookie on him or a journeyman depending on which excuse they’re using.

We’ll reiterate that Toronto was never truly a true #1. They do not have a go-to-guy, they do not have a closer and they aren’t very good at making three’s either. The Raps strength all year has been depth but when was the last time a #7 or #8 came off the bench to win a playoff series? How about never. In the playoffs, the benches are shortened and now for the first time all year, Toronto is not only facing adversity, they have to try and prevent from being embarrassed in four straight after being embarrassed at home in the first two games of this series. Lebron James smelled a wounded prey last game and made the Raps look like school children. That wounded prey is even more wounded here and while we truly hate to zig zag, if Toronto was -6½ or -7 at home, Cleveland should at the very least be the same price or more, thus forcing us to play the value here.
