Game 2 - posted at 12:25 PM EST.

8:35 PM ST. We don't have to dig deep to figure out why the Celtics rolled to a 117-101 victory over the 76ers in Game 1, as the difference in that contest, like it is nearly every game on the pro and college level, was a major discrepancy in three-point shots made. Boston hit 17 of their 35 attempts and that 48.2% clip was 10% higher than the Celtics average this season. With a depleted roster, the C's shot the lights out, but a repeat performance is very unlikely. Boston got 83 combined points from Al Horford, Jayson Tatum and Terry Rozier with Rozier going 7-of-9 from downtown. While he is a great shooter, expecting Rozier to have a night like that again is unreasonable.

On the other side of the court, the 76ers were ice cold and only scored on five of their 26 shots from beyond the arc. A 36-point discrepancy in that category is impossible to overcome in today's NBA, but the 76ers were a top-10 three-point shooting team this season, so a correction is likely coming after a poor night of shooting. The 76ers were 4½ points road favorites in Game 1 and got crushed yet oddsmakers came right back on them with a similar number today. Perception is everything and there has been a lot of talk about how the young 76ers are not ready for prime time, but that could not be further from the truth. Philly got off the better shots in Game 1, but they just didn't fall. That 16-point beat down the 76ers suffered was their biggest loss in two months, but it came on the largest stage the team has been on for quite some time. That lopsided result is going to make it easy to give the C's a look taking back points at home once again but it is the 76ers who are being undersold here. If Philly just plays an average game and the right correction is coming in the three-point shots percentage, then it should have no problem covering this small number. If the 76ers get hot, the final score could be just as lopsided in their favor.
