Anthony Smith +100 over Johnny Walker

6:25 pm EST. Anthony Smith may not be considered a legitimate threat to the light heavyweight crown after his most recent loss to Magomed Ankalaev. However, prior to that defeat, he had won three fights in a row over Devin Clark, Jimmu Crute, and Ryan Spann. Smith's victory over Spann was no joke and it earned him a Performance of the Night bonus. Smith's greatest asset is his ability to finish fights, with an impressive 33 stoppages in his 36 wins.

Johnny Walker, on the other hand, has had more success of late with first-round finishes over both Ion Cutelaba and Paul Craig. Those quick wins are nice, but it remains to be seen whether Walker has truly turned the corner after a run of four losses in five fights. It has been over four years since Walker was the young upstart that was going to take over the 205 LBS division, and Anthony Smith is no easy out.

The fight opened as a coin flip, but recency bias has Walker now as the favorite at most outfits, which cannot be the case. If Smith is capable of surviving Walker's usual early flurry of strikes, he is going to drag Johnny into the deep waters and make him pay. A finish for Smith is not out of the question here, but we'll back him straight up in case this one goes to the scorecards.
