Eryk Anders +139 over Andre Muniz

7:45 PM EST. Eryk Anders has been up and down since starting his UFC career 2-0. The former Alabama linebacker (he led the Crimson Tide with seven tackles and a forced fumble in the 2009 BCS Championship game) is just 1-1-1 in his last three bouts, but he did pick up the win over Darren Stewart last time out. That fight was a make-good on the no-contest that Anders took in the pair’s previous fight after landing an illegal knee to Stewart’s head. Regardless of the modest recent success, it’s going to be very difficult for those in this market to walk up to the window and back a fighter like Anders, especially considering his competition.

Andre Muniz’s last fight ended in violent fashion when he broke the arm of one of the greats in Jacare Souza back at UFC 262. It was the first time the Brazilian legend was forced to submit in his career—quite the notch in Muniz’s belt, no doubt. With that win, Muniz brought his perfect record in the Octagon to 3-0. Dude hasn’t lost a professional fight in five years. A run like that will get one noticed in this results based business. However, they say “Styles make fights” and if that adage is true, this is not a good style clash for Muniz.

While Muniz has the ground game to get the job done, last time we checked, the fight always starts on the feet. This is an area that has been a weakness for Muniz, while Anders has the power in his punches to knock anybody out at 155 lbs. This is the ultimate “buy low, sell high” situation. As that is our mantra, we’ll not pass this one up.
