Greg Hardy +111 over Tai Tuivasa

11:15 PM EST. Greg Hardy's time in the UFC has been clouded by controversy since his signing. The former NFL star's past as a noted domestic abuser made him few friends outside of the Octagon. A 7-3, Hardy has enjoyed success inside the cage, but he was dropped by Marcin Tybura last December. That loss combined with his setback to Alexander Volkov have given the talking heads enough to chew on with regards to Hardy's perceived limitations in the UFC, but from our perch, he is not out of place with the rest of the middle of the road 265 lbs fighters that are chomping at the bit to crack the top 15. There is no shame in those setbacks versus Tybura (8) and Volkov (5), either, as they are both ranked in the top 10. Now, Hardy will take a step down in competition, which should suit him just fine.

Spotting a price with a fighter like Tai Tuivasa is always a dangerous proposition. Heavyweight fights can be unpredictable at the best of times. "Bam Bam" has won two straight but a closer look at the competition leaves much to be desired. A win over the corpse of Stefan Struve last October on Fight Island stopped Tuivasa’s three-fight skid. To follow up that shoddy victory, Tuivasa knocked out Harry Hunsucker, who in addition to sounding like a create-a-fighter in UFC 4, was a last-minute replacement for Don’Tale Mayes. Tuivasa was a near 5-1 favorite for that fight, which did nothing to raise his standing. This is a classic buy low, sell high situation, which makes Tuivasa an easy fade as the betting favorite.
