Gilbert Burns +140 over Stephen Thompson

11:45 PM EST. The new and improved Stephen Thompson has got a ton of attention this week, as "Wonderboy" looks bigger and better than ever. Add a two-fight win streak, complete with Performance and Fight of the Night bonuses, and one can understand why the hype train on the one-time title contender is beginning to gain steam. However, it appears that now would be a prudent time to sell and get maximum return on "Wonderboy."

Nobody had a better run from late 2018 to Early 2021 than Gilbert Burns. A five fight win streak that saw him rip through the who's who of the 170 lbs division (Gunner Nelson, Demian Maia and Tyron Woodley) lead to a championship opportunity with current welterweight kingpin Kamaru Usman back at UFC 258 in February. Like everyone who's faced "The Nigerian Nightmare" in the UFC, Burns was sent packing, this time by way of second round knockout. It wasn't a "good" loss per se, but it wasn't a shameful one either. The reality is, "Durinho" is still one of the best welterweights in the world, which makes taking back a price like this so appealing.
