UFC VEGAS 30 - UFC Apex - Las Vegas, NV

Justin Jaynes +150 over Charles Rosa

1:35 PM EST. Justin Jaynes is flying so far under the radar it isn’t even funny. That’s okay by us, as these unknown fighters often find themselves generously priced against UFC mainstays, as "Guitar Hero" was in his promotional debut against Frank Camacho. Jaynes was a near 3-1 underdog and he flattened the vet in just 41 seconds. Unfortunately for Jaynes, his next three fights did not go as planned, as he dropped them all, getting finished in each. Not a good look. It also puts a target on his back, as Jaynes looks to be easy pickings as he steps into the Octagon one more time against another journeyman.

Charles Rosa has built up a following by being a tough out, even in defeat in the UFC. Dude has been in the UFC for nearly seven years, but he's never been able to string together two victories in a row. He’s alternated wins and losses since his debut. If you listen to the pundits, dude is “due” for a win. Rosa is mostly known for his "Boston Strong'' moniker, and while he does do a good job branding himself in that way, one has to wonder how much longer he will stay in neutral. Sure, a fighter can come into his own late in life, but the lighter the weight class, the harder that path is to follow. "Boston Strong" is 34 and the 145 lbs division is loaded with killers. It is going to be nearly impossible for Rosa to crack the top-15 let alone sniff the top-5 or a title shot. If moving up is unlikely, then you know what the only other option is. "Boston Strong's" downhill descent and a second straight defeat is very much on the table here.
