Antonio Carlos Junior -110 over Brad Tavares

9:15 PM EST. Brad Tavares has been kicking around the UFC for a decade, which says something about his durability, we suppose. However, he has been on the sidelines for over a year, which suggests there might be some cracks finally showing after a decade in the world's top MMA promotion. Tavares has ridden hot and cold streaks throughout the last decade. He's 11-6 inside the Octagon but is currently in the midst of a two fight slide that saw him drop bouts to Israel Adesanya (way back in July of 2018) and Edmen Shahbazyan in November of 2019. In the latter, Tavares was head kicked into oblivion at the midway point of the first round. He has not been seen in the cage since. This fight with Antonio Carlos Junior was actually supposed to take place last May, but was cancelled after Tavares suffered an injury to his ACL.

Antonio Carlos Junior has yet to fulfill his potential in the Octagon and is also coming off a pair of losses to Ian Heinisch and Uriah Hall, respectively. Carlos Junior is a winner of the Brazilian version of The Ultimate Fighter and has also suffered through injuries over the years. We won't spend much time on him because this is more about fading Tavares than it is backing "Cara de Sapato." In case you were wondering, that translates to "Shoe Face." While we’re not overly high on Carlos, we don’t have to be because this is more a fade on a fighter that has every negative box ticked. Brad Tavares is pure fade material and that’s the position we are taking here.
