Carlos Condit +110 over Court McGee
8:10 PM EST. Much has been made about the return of Carlos Condit after a near two-year hiatus from the UFC. However, that analysis has not been kind to "The Natural Born Killer," nor should it be, as he's currently riding a five-fight losing skid. Dude's last win was over five years ago against Thiago Alves in May of 2015. The first of those defeats was Condits' five-round war with Robbie Lawler for the Welterweight Championship at UFC 195. There were questions at that time if either man would ever be the same again. For Condit, it appears something was lost forever that night, as he then dropped fights to Demian Maia, Neil Magny, Alex Oliveira and Michael Chiesa. Those weren't just losses either, as Condit was submitted in three of those contests. So why is Condit here? Well, money is the easy answer, but he's also likely considering his legacy, although we're not sure a win here will do much to change that. From the UFC's side, this looks to be a prime spot to try and make one more name off of Condit before putting him out to pasture for good.
Court McGee has been a UFC mainstay for a decade now after making his debut way back in 2010. He's the definition of a "journeyman," having never reached the heights of Condit, who was no doubt at one time a real championship contender. McGee has never sniffed a championship fight, let alone headline a card. Arguably, this is McGee's highest-profile fight ever. Other than a 2013 bout with Robert Whittaker, McGee's résumé is void of anyone most fight fans have heard of. This fight represents such a big step up in competition for McGee and he's not proven anything. The wrong fighter is favored here. We'll act accordingly.
