This fight is not going to win any style points, but we have got to wonder what Ben Rothwell has left in the tank, not just physically, but mentally after serving the two-year suspension that was handed down by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. Rothwell has been mum this week saying, “everything and anything about my past is something that will be discussed, but not at this time.” What we do know is that "Big Ben" tested positive for an “anabolic androgenic steroid of exogenous origin” and USADA denied his request for a testosterone use exemption. Rothwell had previously been suspended under the UFC's banner and at that time said he was diagnosed with hypogonadism, which is a condition where his body doesn’t produce enough testosterone. That diagnosis apparently goes back to a car accident in 1999. So, what does that mean for tonight? Well, Rothwell has passed he pre fight drug tests, so his body doesn't have in it whatever he or his physician thought it needed for him to compete in a cage fight, yet, here he is, two years older and doughier. If Rothwell is here for anything other than his paycheck, we'll be shocked.

That first fight against tonight's headliner, Junior Dos Santos, did not go as the Bulgarian had planned, as he lost a unanimous decision. Compared to Rothwell, Ivanov is an unknown, which is probably why his price has come down since opening as a -130 favorite. Make no mistake, despite the loss to JDS, Ivanov is in better form and "Big Ben" has been served up as nothing more than a punching bag by the promotion here. If Rothwell has a great performance after two years off, then so be it, but all the value in this fight is on the chalk.
