Arizona -1½ +120 over Colorado

3:10 PM EST. After a full month of the season has passed, let’s have a quick look at the Rockies, a team that plays half of its games in the greatest hitter’s park the majors have ever had. Against lefties, Colorado ranks 23rd out of 30 teams in OPS and they also rank 24th against righties. Historically, Colorado has always been near the top of the league because of their park but this year they are bottom third, which proves just how weak this collection is.

Ryne Nelson (RHP - ARI) starts for the D-Backs but this wager has nothing to do with Nelson, although dude has been serviceable and looks like he could stick in the rotation. This wager is all about fading the brutal Rockies at a park where the visitor is eating well and also about fading Colorado’s brutal starter.

The twinge of roster-worthiness that Austiin Gomber (LHP - COL) produced in 2021 all but disappeared. Sure, that 69% strand rate didn't help but his main problem, though, was another year of erosion in OPS vR+. You simply don't want to get behind a lefty starter who struggles against RHB and has an xERA and K-BB% history like this, no matter what park he's pitching in. Gomber walks guys (12 walks in 21 frames), he is constantly behind in the count and he’s pitching for maybe the worst team in the majors with all due respect going to the A’s.
