Miami +101 over Atlanta

6:40 PM EST. The Marlins are a team we have discussed frequently this season. A team on the verge of contending, the Marlins are a fraction away from posting a top-5 record in the majors. Here’s a Miami team that has lost 13 of its last 17 games overall but nine of its last 11 losses were by one run. That’s off-the charts-abnormal. The Marlins are an insane 4-13 in one-run games this year. As a result of its weak recent form on paper (caused by extreme poor fortune) the Marlins remain without question one of the most undervalued teams in the league. It is for that reason that we’ll put them on our radar and play them every game for the next 15 games. That will commence here with a three game set vs Atlanta and end on June 5th after the final game of four against San Francisco. This is Game 1 of 15.

Here are today’s starters:

Trevor Rogers' (LHP - MIA) slow start to 2022 all revolves around his change-up, which has been a mess this year. He simply cannot succeed without it so here’s hoping he’s found it again. His other pitches work great off an effective changeup. Rogers faces a Braves’ lineup today that has been surprisingly cold in May despite the return of Ronald Acuña.

Charlie Morton (RHP - ATL) needs no introductions. Dude is 38-years old and comes in with a 2-3 record after seven starts with an ERA/xERA split of 4.93/4.96. Normally, if a 38-year-old suffered a fractured tibia that had to be surgically repaired, you'd probably think, "Well, that's the end of him." Underestimate him at your peril but for us, this wager is about playing Miami for an allotted period of time.
