Cincinnati +145 over Cleveland

6:10 PM EST. We’re playing the Reds daily until May 26. We began backing the Reds on May 10 and so far we are 3-3. This is Game 7 of 16 of our continuous play on the Reds and here is today’s pitching matchup:

Zach Plesac (RHP - CLE) has not been sharp, as three of his six starts have resulted in disasters. The matchup is in his favor today (on paper), as the Reds have a .193 BA and .560 OPS away from home. Still, those numbers are what makes Cinci appealing because a serious correction to the good is forthcoming.

The Reds are Connor Overton’s (RHP, CIN) sixth organization. Overton appeared in nine games with the Pirates and Blue Jays in 2021 before inking a deal with Cincinnati in November 2021. He formerly was a 15th round draft pick in 2014 by the Marlins and generally threw in the low-90s. After mechanical adjustments and additional strength, Overton now pumps his fastball into the 93-96 mph range and has a wide variety of secondary offerings at his disposal. He has a nifty slider, slow curveball, cutter and change-up that features late fade and drop. None of his pitches grade as plus, however, he gives hitters a lot of different looks and velocities.

Our Pick

Cincinnati +145 (Risking 2 units - To Win: 2.90)

No Run in First Inning -105
