Washington +160 over N.Y. Mets

7:05 PM EST. Before we get to today’s starters, just on records alone, this series between the Mets and Nationals in D.C. sets up to be a potentially profitable buy low/sell high situation. We’ll start with the Mets, who at 20-10, are six games up on the rest of the NL East. New York is outpacing its considerable preseason hype, as that is the biggest lead of any team up until this point. If there’s one thing we know about the Mets, it’s that always works out in the end!

New York will send (checks notes), well, the Mets haven’t named a starter at the time of this posting, but do you know what? If the books don’t care, we don’t either. The Mets burned through plenty of arms over the weekend with seven pitchers seeing action in Sunday’s doubleheader in Philadelphia.

Patrick Corbin (LHP - WAS) also matters not, but we will say that he has been better than his surface numbers would suggest. His 7.16 ERA is backed by a 4.88 xERA. The Nats are a feisty underdog that is worth getting behind at home at prices like this. We must try and take advantage of these bad lines the books posted.
