6:45 PM EST. It looks like it’ll be either Jonathan Gray or Glenn Otto (RHP - TEX) for the Rangers but we’ll assume it’s Otto and if it isn’t, that’s fine too Regardless of who is starting for the Rangers, we’re playing them. The last report we had on Gray was that he had been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left knee MCL sprain. That was on April 28th less than 10 days ago, which is why we’re skeptical about Gray starting although BET365 & Sportsinteraction has Gray listed as the starter. If you are on board for this wager, specify “action” and not “listed pitchers must go”. If it isn’t Gray, Otto is next man up but that’s no guarantee either. We’ll hope it’s Otto, as the kid has shown elite command and also added a sweet-looking slider to his repertoire. He has quietly emerged as a rock solid option in a small sample size but the market is mostly unaware of him just yet.

Ranger Suárez (LHP - PHI) came into the year with plenty of hype after he posted the lowest ERA in the majors last year among pitchers with 100 innings or more. He worked as both a starter and reliever (also earning 4 saves) and while he’s not a household name, he is one to fantasy players who scooped him up early in drafts this year. We have frequently cautioned readers about buying players after a career year and that applies to Suarez. We’re not suggesting he’s no good but we are strongly suggesting that he won’t repeat last year. For one, he’s walking too many batters and not striking out enough to compensate. He has a BB/K split of 8/12 over 18 innings this year covering four starts. However, he’s 2-0 so he’s getting far too much credit. Fact is, he has a 5.10 xERA and an awful 1.64 WHIP after four starts and it’s worth noting that the Rangers rank 5th in the majors in OPS against southpaws.
