Minnesota -1½ +117 over Kansas City

2:10 PM EST. Joe Ryan (RHP - MIN) should be a -220 favorite here not -130. Ryan has a 2.70/2.81 ERA/xERA split after two starts with 11 K’s in 10 frames and a dazzling 16% swing and miss rate. This rookie a year ago made quite the September splash after a successful stint with Team USA in the Olympics, notching a 30/5 K-to-BB ratio and four straight gems or 4 starts before a tough final outing. His only issue at higher levels has been the long ball, but a high K-BB% keeps that damage minimal. He’s ready now and jacks should not be an issue at this park.

If you’re willing to risk a price on a baseball game, Joe Ryan and the Twins are the bargain of the day. We’re not willing to risk it but are 100% on board with spotting the extra half run. You see, the Twinkies dropped the first two games of this series and have also dropped four of five so their stock is very low. The last time they won was in Boston on Marathon Monday when they whacked the Red Sox in a day game, 8-3. Furthermore, in their last six losses, Minnesota has scored a combined six runs (!) further decreasing its already low stock. Trust us when we suggest that their bats are not going to stay this cold much longer. Minnesota has put the ball in play (not striking out) as much as the Dodgers or Blue Jays but nothing is falling. There is a great chance of Minnesota's bad luck taking a turn for the better today against Zack Greinke (RHP - KC).

A blowup waiting to happen. That’s Greinke. Extreme and unsustainable good fortune. That’s Greinke. In two starts covering 11 innings, Greinke has one strikeout this year. To put that into perspective, take your grandma for instance, now put her on the mound of a major-league baseball game. If she were to pitch 11 innings, she would have one less strikeout than Zach Greinke. His swing and miss rate is a league low 3.5%. His ERA is 2.45 after two starts, which the market will eat up but his xERA of 6.02 will rear its ugly head very, very soon. Age plus wear and tear has caught up to Greinke. When the final bell on the season goes off, he’ll have more didaster than dominating starts and it won’t be close. Ever the sphinx, but even the mighty statue of Ozymandias succumbed to the sands of time. Zach Greinke is pure fade material so get in now at these bargain prices.
