7:40 PM EST. Wade Miley (LHP - CIN) has had two of his four starts against the Cubs this season result in a dud, although his most recent start versus them resulted in a very decent outing. However, Miley has alternated between strong starts and disaster starts across his last six. With the help of an 85% strand rate, he is 5-1 with a 2.82 ERA over his last 11 starts. His skills during that time are not pretty with a 5.18 xERA to go along with six lousy K’s/9. The Reds are great fade material right now because they are not responding well to the pressure of being in a playoff race.

The Cubbies are playing with house money and have now reeled off seven in a row and while there is a fear of being too late to the party, the Cubs are having fun just playing baseball and winning. That makes them a loose and dangerous squad.

Adrian Sampson (RHP - CHC) is worthy of our attention. Dude is fresh and hungry and had an off-the-charts 31% swing & miss rate in his last start. He's always missed a decent amount of bats while attacking the strike zone with authority. He had 11 K’s in five innings in his last start and he’ll be facing a Reds’ nine that is seeing BB’s right now and losing.
