Houston -1½ +281 LOS ANGELES

9:40 PM EST. You could take much of what we wrote about these two teams yesterday and copy and paste it right here. When the Astros are a pooch, we're interested. As for Jake Odorizzi (RHP - HOU), he is perfectly serviceable, as he is usually a steady hand. This play really has nothing to do with him, as his teammates are able to score runs in bunches and these Dodgers are priced out of this stratosphere.

Max Scherzer will make his first start for L.A. since the big trade that brought him over from Washington. While Scherzer is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, he is priced tonight like he is in the dead of his prime and these Astros were the 1962 Mets. Is it fair to expect Max to be at his best tonight after the whirlwind week he has had? Dude pitched with no pressure all season and now all eyes are on him. Drawing the disciplined bats of the Garbage Pail Kids is no easy assignment either. If we could highlight three areas that the 'Stros are made to exploit, it would be Scherzer's extremely high strand rate (86.8%), his low groundball rate (32.4%) and a low Batting Average on Balls in Play (BABIP) of just .227, which suggest his Nationals' teammates were covering his ass out there more than one might think. If the Dodgers get their revenge tonight, so be it, but this looks to be a solid situational play with extreme value.
