Atlanta -1½ +190 over N.Y. METS

7:10 PM EST. The Braves molly whopped the Mets last night to the tune of 12-5 and is there little reason to believe they can't do it again tonight? Atlanta can hang a crooked number on any night, as they routinely put up a touchdown or more. Meanwhile, the Mets seemingly have to scrap for every run they can get of late.

The Braves will send Max Fried (LHP - ATL) out for his turn after he struggled in his last start, giving up four runs over five innings in a 5-1 loss to the Phillies. We backed Fried that day and while we ripped up that ticket, we're getting behind him again but he's worthy.

The Mets rotation is a patchwork mess at this point, as if the constant call up and send downs of Jack Eickhoff weren't evidence of that after he was torched for 10 runs in three innings last night. Now, what does that have to do with rookie Tylor Megill? On the surface, nothing, but he, too, is only in this spot because of the Mets' pitching woes. While Megill has no doubt outperformed his modest draft stock (Round 8, 2018), we see some big red flags in his small sample size. While the surface stats impress, in his 30 innings pitched at the top level, Megill has an unsustainable strand rate of 90.6%. Perhaps most concerning is the fact that his swing and miss rate is down almost 5% since his call up from Triple-A Syracuse. When the correction comes for Megill, it could get gruesome. If it doesn't come here, the Braves can stiil get it done.
