DETROIT -105 over Texas

7:10 PM EST. This is a rematch from July 7. In that one, Texas sent Kyle Gibson (RHP - TEX) to the mound and he was spotting a pretty significant price as the takeback that day on the Tigers was +136. We posted Detroit on the run line that day, and they won the game 5-3. Does that mean they'll win again today? We do not know, but what we do recognize is value. If Texas was a big price at home, how can the Tigers not be the same?

The disrespect of the Tigers in the market is real and we just do not understand why. They are playing some great ball, have a core of exciting young players and three legit pitching studs in the pipeline. You could bump that up to five if you want to add Jackson Jobe and Ty Madden, both picked by the Tigers in this year's draft.

We'll temper expectations on the new guys, but we'll not for Casey Mize (RHP - DET). Dude is a legit ace in the making. There was a damn good reason Detroit took him #1 in 2018. Don't let his limited innings the past few starts spook you. The Tigers are committed to stretching this kid out and want to see what he can do. While the Tigers are still 9½ games out of a Wild Card spot, they are playing some damn good ball and have been for weeks. A sweep of the Twins post-All-Star break has to have them feeling good about going to the ballpark. The Rangers, meanwhile, dropped back-to-back games to the Blue Jays. Texas didn't just lose, it was roasted to the tune of 10-0 and 10-2. Now the Rangers go from rain soaked Buffalo to the Motor City where the Tigers figure to be ready to pounce.
