Detroit +145 over CLEVELAND

7:10 PM EST. All aboard the Matt Manning (RHP - DET) bandwagon! There's still room, and you might as well get in now because as long as he or any of the other Tigers' Baby Big Three are taking back a tag against a hapless wet noodle like the Baseball Team, we are going to be leading the parade to the window. Manning picked up his first win in his second start last time out, and while he did not strike out anyone over his 5.2 innings, he was great. Don't think the Ks aren't coming either, as he projects as a pure power pitcher. His 6'6" frame is imposing and he was mowing them down at Triple A Toledo, posting a strikeout rate of 10K’s/9 with the Mud Hens. As a squad, the Tigers are still grossly underpriced in this market and they present tremendous value almost daily. Detroit is loaded with young players that appear to be growing together and are having fun at the ballpark. The spark may have already been lit, as Detroit has won five of its last seven games.

At 41-33, Cleveland is 2½ games back of the White Sox in the AL Central, but we're not buying in. Without breaking down all their faults, we'll just point to a run differential of -3. Of the 40 win teams in MLB on June 28, 2021, only thIS Baseball Team, the Yankees and the Mariners sport a negative number in that department. For some perspective, the 40 win Blue Jays are a +65. What would that number be and how many more wins would "Toronto" have if its bullpen wasn't atrocious, it was playing in its home park and it didn’t have to face the loaded AL East on the reg? Meanwhile, the South Side, who again are just 2½ games up on Cleveland, are in the black to the tune of +81. Their lead should be 22 games, not two. Eli Morgan (RHP - CLE) will take the mound for the Baseball Team in search of his first win of the season. While his 10.32 ERA is inflated, his xERA of 6.42 does not inspire, nor does it warrant this inflated price.
