Toronto -1½ +160 over BOSTON

7:10 PM EST. Ross Stripling (RHP - TOR) throws strikes (12 walks in 42 innings), his groundball rate is steadily increasing (60% last start), and he also strikes guys out (43 K’s in 42 innings). Dude’s fastball has some zip too (93.1 average last three starts). When we think of Stripling, we think of an aging vet in decline but that’s true. He’s 31 and in his prime years and everything in his profile is trending the right way.

Garrett Richards' (RHP - BOS) 3.88 ERA is being propped up by the fact that he has yet to allow a single jack in 65 frames. His xERA is 4.59, and that's up to 5.02 over his last five games started. And in two starts vs. the Blue Jays this season, Richards has posted more walks (10) than strikeouts (7), along with a 6.19 xERA. The Blue Jays rank 4th in HR and 2nd in OPS (.759), making them a pretty good candidate to kick-start Richards' regression process.

One can choose the small takeback on the Jays but we much prefer spotting the extra half run and taking back an extra 75 cents on every dollar on the run-line.
