Readers of this space won’t be surprised to see Zack Greinke (RHP - HOU) on our fade list, nor is a surprise to that he’s showing more signs of decline, which make him more of a league average starter (19% K%, 14% K-BB%, 4.36 xERA) than anything else. A road start against the Blue Jays and their league-leading offense looks pretty iffy and once again it’s time to attack. The Blue Jays faced Greinke in Houston back on May 9th and knocked him out in four innings. The Jays whacked Greinke to the tune of nine hits and four runs (xERA that day of 7.33) in four innings but in true Greinke fashion, he escaped defeat because the Astronauts scored seven times after Jays’ starter, Nate Pearson walked five guys in two innings before being yanked. Hyun-Jin Ryu (LHP - HOU) is not going to walk five guys in 50 innings, let alone two.

Ryu has a BB/K split of 8/58 in 58 frames. It’s almost like his AL East relocation and 2020 obstacles were never even a thing. His BB% is pure excellence and he’s once again riding a rock-solid swing and miss rate, above average groundball rate and HR management to another fine effort. This is what consistency looks like. Ok, OK, Blue Jays, BLUE JAYS! Let’s play ball.
