7:05 PM EST. Aaron Nola (RHP, PHI) had a disappointing 2019 season, one in which his ERA rose by a full run and a half from the previous year. He has returned to his dominant form in 2021, though, as he is 5th in K%-BB%, and has his xERA down to 3.57. Nola has changed his pitch mix, as he's now throwing almost as many sinkers as four-seam fastballs, and more change-ups than curves for the first time in his career. The results have been spectacular, and though the velo is down a bit on his fastball, he's got a 12.9% swing & miss rate on the pitch, and a 21.9% swing & miss rate on his change. Nola has 76 K’s in 63 frames with just 13 walks issued. We are going to trust that he cannot wait to get out there tonight because Cinci’s current hitters have five hits off him in a combined 43 AB’s for a 0.97 BA and a .167 OBP.

Sonny Gray is also good so we’re not going to go into much detail regarding him. However, Philadelphia’s current nine have had some success against Gray but more importantly, Nola is the superior pitcher taking back a tag. That is what this wager is all about.
