1:00 PM EST. Yesterday, the Marlins had multiple runners on base in six of nine innings. They stranded 13 baserunners and hit .126 with runners in scoring position. That’s baseball when one is going bad and we therefore must stick with it. We suggested yesterday that Trevor Rogers and the Marlins cannot be taking back prices like this and we’ll suggest the same thing with Sandy Alcantara (RHP - MIA) going.

Alcantara has found better results in his last two starts after allowing eight earned runs in 1.1 innings at LA on May 14. Despite that outing, dude still has a 3.64 ERA and a 3.06 xERA. That’s how good he is. He also has an elite 15% swing & miss rate versus Boston's 25.6% K% vs. RHP. Alcantara’s 52% groundball rate, (70% last three starts) and 3.67 career xERA in road starts supports getting behind him here. He has also largely avoided barrels in 2021 with a 2.9% Barrel% against. This a fucking elite starter taking back a price that is reserved for dregs and we really hope we make the books/market pay for offering us such an absurd price on such an elite starter. There’s no point in even discussing Eduardo Rodriguez (RHP - BOS) because Boston does not have a single starter in their rotation that is worthy of being this price over Sandy Alcantara.
