MINNESOTA -105 over Baltimore

7:40 PM EST. We love Jon Means (LHP - BAL) as much as the next guy because he really is as good as advertised. Dude is a legit ace but it doesn’t mean he’s going to win. Means has four wins in nine starts. A lot of his outings are going to be wasted by a bullpen that can’t hold leads or that can’t finish the job in a tie game. While John Means is an extremely playable starter when he and the Birds are taking back a price, we can’t get on board with him as road chalk against a team that is bound to start winning some games.

Minnesota is 17-29. They were projected by every publication on the continent to battle it out with the South Side for division supremacy. Instead, the Twinkies are battling it out with the Rockies and Orioles for the worst record in baseball. How can that be? Whatever the case may be, it’s time to start betting them because they are so underpriced.

Matt Shoemaker (RHP - MIN) owns a 7.36 ERA at home but now gets a matchup against a Baltimore offense that sits last in OPS against RHP (.628), 27th in OPS on the road (.637), and in the bottom 10 in OPS over the last seven days (.691). We’re not trying to sell you on Shoemaker here. Dude is what he is but we can’t get on board with Baltimore being favored in Minnesota and therefore we must attack.
