Of course at some point improvement is pretty much inevitable but the Crew are seeing BB’s at the plate right now and surely must be gripping their bats a little tighter. Further, the Crew will send out their worst pitcher today in Brett Anderson (LHP - MIL).

You might have to go deep into the baseball archives to find an outfielder that was mopping up a game, let alone a pitcher with a swing & miss rate that low. Even pitching machines have a higher swing and miss rate than Anderson’s wretched rate. Dude has five K’s in 10 innings and three of those came against the opposing pitchers. When an everyday player strikes out against Anderson, the rule of thumb is that he sits two weeks until he clears his fucking head. His first-pitch strike rate is 52%, which completes the worst starting pitching profile in the majors thus far. Brett Anderson must pray that all those batted balls are hit at people.

We could discuss the Pirates starter here but does it matter? The only thing we had to check was making sure that the Pirates didn’t sign Bob Barker (RHP - The Price is Right) to pitch today. They didn’t so that box has been checked, thus, all systems are a go to make this wager.
