9:07 PM EST. The Twins came in here last night and lost the opener 10-3. That’s not a good look and neither is its 6-8 record. The Twinkies were supposed to be a big time threat this year and after last night’s loss, the market is becoming sour on them. Now throw in that Matt Shoemaker (RHP, MIN) has surrendered three jacks in two starts and the Twins become less appealing. Thus, now is the perfect time to jump onto this bandwagon. Yes indeed, Shoemaker has yielded 3 HR over his first two starts but he’s been elite in nearly every other way. He’s compiled a 3.42 xERA to go along with one walk and 12 K’s in 11 frames.

In just five innings covering two starts, Jose Quintana (LHP - LAA) has walked seven batters while striking out nine. That has led to a 3.40 WHIP, which means dude is pitching with the bases loaded every inning. That’s a lot of traffic and a lot of stress. His wildness has the full support of an extremely high 20.6% BB%. Small sample size on Quintana for sure but his stagnant pre-2020 skills nudge last year's "risky innings-eater" conclusion to more of a best-case scenario and that, too, isn’t pretty.
