7:10 PM EST. Kyle Wright went 0-3 with a 8.69 ERA in 19 frames for the Braves last season. Oof. This season, Wright has posted a 7.20 ERA over 15 frames. Oof. This is not what anyone wanted from a former 1st-round pick with A-list caliber stuff. In his second year (last year), his walk problems turned nightmarish in the majors (5.9 BB’s/9), and he has yet to figure out how to turn velocity into strikeouts. This year, dude has walked 16 and struck out 12. Oof. More recently, he walked 9 and struck out four over his last nine frames. Oof. When the plate keeps moving around, it can take a long time to nail it down. Kyle Wright isn’t even effectively wild and now seems destined for another year on the "A-Rod 10-Step Path to Stardom” program.

What a bargain we get here on Sixto Sánchez (RHP - MIA). Sanchez has only made three career starts. This electric rookie followed up a disaster in his first start with back-to-back gems in his last two starts. Across his last two starts he has a 15/1 K/BB while allowing just two earned runs in 14 innings. The early skills he has shown are tremendous (68% first-pitch strike, 14% swing and miss, 63% groundballs). Of course Atlanta is favored over Miami but after this year or even perhaps after this start, it’s going to be a very long time before we see a pitcher of Wright’s caliber favored over Sixto Sanchez.
