Kia Tigers -102 over Lotte Giants

5:30 AM EST. Kia is 7-7 while the Giants are 7-6 but don’t be misled into thinking the Giants are better because they are not. In fact, Lotte got off to a tremendous 6-1 start this year but they have gone 1-5 since. Kia, on the other hand, started off poorly due to a lot of bad luck but things are starting to turn for them. The  Tigers grounded into 15 double plays in its first 10 games to kill a bunch of potential rallies. They also dropped a few one run games but that is a thing of the past. Kia’s Preston Tucker is to the KBO what Mike Trout is to MLB. Dude is racking up RBI’s, hits and everything else.

Lotte will send Park Se-woong to the mound to make his third start. Thus far, Park has a nifty looking 3.72 ERA but it’s an illusion. His 1.55 WHIP, 11 hits, 7 K’s and 4 walks in 9.2 frames tells the real story of a pitcher with a horseshoe stuck up his you know what. His weak under the hood numbers do not add up to a 3.72 ERA. Instead, he has a 6.45 xERA and that means big time regression is on the way. 

By contrast, the Tigers Im Ki-young is 0-2 with a 5.62 ERA but his numbers are a result of bad luck. Dude has 10 K’s and two walks issued in eight innings. He has not given up a jack either but has been singled to death over his first two starts. What we have here is the second best pitcher and probably the second best team favored in a game they should not be favored in. This is a true value play that we fully expect to cash.
