Kiwoom Heroes -1½ +104 over Hanwha Eagles

4:00 AM EST. The Heroes will send out seven-year veteran Han Hyun-hee, who first appeared in the KBO at the ripe age of 19. He is now 26 and he can pitch. Han Hyun-hee has appeared in 352 games over his career but has only started 58 games. Last year, he relieved the entire season and he had a strong year with a 3.41 ERA over 58 innings with 50 K’s and 20 BB’s. In 2018, he went 11-7 with a 4.21 ERA over 28 starts so he’s certainly no stranger to starting. The wager here, however is more about fading the Eagles 5th starter, Kim Ee-whan.

Kim Ee-whan is 19 years old so he was pitching at this level last year when he was 18. He posted a 4.26 ERA last season over 38 innings covering eight starts and three relief appearances. However, he also posted a 1.66 WHIP with 6.11 xERA. Kim Ee-whan walked 21 batters and struck out 15 last season. In his last two starts of last year, he struck out one batter in each start. This is a pitcher that puts people on base and that doesn’t strike out nearly enough to compensate. That’s a recipe for big trouble in this hitter-friendly league.
