7:10 PM EST. Martin Perez (LHP - MIN) is risky and we wouldn’t go near him when he’s favored. In this start, however, he comes in as a significant underdog against a starter that is worse than he is. For the record, Perez is 9-6 with a 120 K’s in 142 innings with a nice 11.5% swing & miss rate. His ERA/xERA split is close at 4.89/4.81.

That inferior starter we mentioned above would be Nathan Eovaldi (RHP - BOS). Eovaldi (RHP, BOS) has been building up his pitch count in his three starts since his return from the IL, and pitched well against the Angels in his last outing but so what, as the Halos have hit a brick wall. Eovaldi now has a difficult matchup against the Twins in Boston. Eovaldi has struggled to an 8.44 ERA at Fenway Park this season, and Minnesota is the league's best road team, with an OPS at .859. Eovaldi's best sub-score is the win potential because the Red Sox may score 12 but his skills scores are lagging well behind that. A very risky start and one where the underdog holds significant value.
