2:20 PM EST. Anibal Sanchez (RHP - WAS) hasn't been able to duplicate the success of his surprising 2018 campaign, but has been much more effective since late May than he was early in the season. He has gotten the walks under control, and is once again doing an excellent job of minimizing hard contact against him, but his ERA has also been aided by fortuitous hit and strand rates for many starts. Sanchez is a decent back-end starter with an ERA/xERA split of 3.99/5.16. Indeed, he is in line for regression and we’re not thrilled about getting behind him but what we are thrilled about is taking back a price on the Nationals against Jon Lester (LHP - CHC).

Lester has just a single “pure quality start to his credit over his last eight starts in which he is 3-2 with a 4.89 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, and 5.91 xERA. Two of his last three starts have resulted in disasters. Lester’s lone start against the Nationals this season was a rough one back on May 18 when the Nats were cold as ice. That was then. The Nationals lineup has been on fire in August, as they are averaging 6.9 runs per game and have a .905 OPS. Jon Lester continues to be overvalued and thus, we’ll continue to try and capitalize.
