3:10 PM EST. This is the Coors Field angle back in play. We skipped over yesterday’s because it was such a large pitching mismatch between German Marquez and Hector Noesi and as it turns out, the Rocks won 11-4. Marquez was deservingly a massive favorite but today’s starter, Peter Lambert (RHP - COL) is undeserving.

Lambert’s 7% swing & miss rate does not play well at this unforgiving park. Peter Lambert has a 6.80 xERA at Coors, where his 39% hard-contact allowed rate has contributed to a 1.59 home WHIP. Even though the Marlins are the worst team in the majors vs. righties, Lambert’s 58% disaster start percentage is also the worst rate among qualified starters and illustrates the risk in getting behind him spotting a price in the -160 range.

Jordan Yamamoto (RHP - MIA) has posted an 8.28 ERA with three disasters in his last five games. A trip to Coors Field against a Colorado offense that hits well at home may not help his 4.71 xERA but at least his xERA is somewhat respectable compared to Lambert’s. In away matchups, Yamamoto has missed more bats with a 28% K% and 10 K’s/9. A start at Coors Field isn’t encouraging but it is what it is, as we are merely providing you with information to make a choice on whether to hop on board or pass. The price dictates out position and we’re playing it.
