8:10 PM EST. The Pirates have won eight of their last 11 games and just scored 24 runs in the last two games in Houston while taking two of three from the Astronauts. Incidentally, Houston had both Jose Altuve and George Springer back for that series. We’re continuing here with backing the undervalued Pirates until a market correction occurs. We’ve been saying for weeks that this batting lineup is as good as any in baseball and maybe even the best in the business.

We’re not even going to concern ourselves with the pitching matchup because Pittsburgh is capable of putting up crooked numbers every game and after crushing Houston’s staff, San Diego’s staff and Atlanta’s staff recently, the Pirates are taking a step down in class when facing the Crews staff, which includes today’s starter for Milwaukee, Jhoulys Chacin.

In case you’re unaware, Chacin is pure garbage. His first-pitch strike rate over his last seven games is 47%. His swing and miss rate is 7% overall but just 6% since May and it’s down to 5% in June. This is a starter with 33 walks and 56 K’s in 67 innings to go along with one of the worst xERA’s in baseball and he’s a ridiculous price against one of the three best hitting teams in baseball.
