1:35 PM EST. Michael Soroka (RHP - ATL) has allowed eight earned runs in his last 11 frames vs. Pittsburgh and the Mets, which resulted in back-to-back disaster outings. Although he misses bats with an 11% swing & miss, his strikeouts have dipped to a 5.6 per nine in June but we’re not concerned. He has induced more groundballs (64%) in away starts and he owns a 3.39 xERA. Soroka has outstanding control and figures to get back on track here in a very winnable game.

The Braves offense is on absolute fire and for the Nationals, this might not be the best time to give Austin Voth (RHP - WAS) his first start of the year. Voth made 12 starts for Harrisburg of the PCL this season and pretty it was not. He put up a 4.41 ERA with an oppBA of .272. In his first taste of MLB last season, he didn’t last and was immediately sent back down after posting a 6.57 ERA over two starts and two relief appearances. Voth, a fifth-round pick out of Washington, isn’t overpowering and instead relies on keeping hitters off-balance. His fastball sits at 87-90 mph and is backed up by a slider, change and above-average 12-6 curve. He got destroyed in 2017 (minors) going 4-12 with a 5.94 ERA with 20 long balls and a .302 oppBAA in 122.2 innings. Voth fared better in the low minors, but his fringe control and tendency to leave his pedestrian heater up in the zone finally caught up to him. Dude has never had success at this level in a small sample size and has been torched at every level of the minors at some point as well. In no way does Voth look MLB ready so get it while it’s good.
