PITCHING CHANGE for Blue Jays. Derek Law in for Edwin Jackson and we're still playing Orioles

7:05 PM EST. The Blue Jays were favored on the road yesterday but that made no sense whatsoever and we missed an opportunity because the O’s looked too good.  Yeah, the Orioles have the worst record in baseball but they are a young, energetic and getting better bunch while the Blue Jays are stale, unexciting and pure fade material when they’re favored or evenly priced like they are here. Prior to yesterday, the Orioles were coming off a six-game trip through Texas and Houston in which they won just two of six games but they could have just as easily won all six. They had a 3-0 lead late against the Astros in the first game of that series but lost 4-3. They won the middle game and lost the finale 4-0 but it was just 2-0 in the sixth and the O’s actually outhit the Astros, 6-5. In Texas, all three games were decided by one run.

As for the Jays, they were getting buried by the Snakes this past weekend. Toronto was beaten badly, 8-2, 6-0 and 8-2 again and looked just as lifeless yesterday.

Now the matchup -- 25-year-old David Hess (RHP) v 35-year-old Edwin Jackson. Between them, they have one win in 17 starts. They both have ERA’s over 7 and xERA’s close to six. Chances are one or both get blown up here so let’s take the starters out of the equation and decide whose offense and bullpen we would rather have in an evenly priced game. The answer is a no-brainer.
