1:07 PM EST. There is a real buzz in Toronto these days with the Raptors on the verge of an NBA championship but the Toronto Blue Jays are the exact opposite -- a  buzz kill. The Jays lost again yesterday and have now been outscored in this series 14-2. We have no idea why we came of the Diamondbacks yesterday after playing them on Friday and for that, we are sorry. Today it’ll be Arizona’s Robby Ray (LHP - ARI) matching up against Toronto's bottom-five offense vs. southpaws. Ray backs his strong strikeout rating (91 K’s in 69 innings) with a 14% swing and miss rate. His 3.74 xERA points to his ability because xERA does not consider park factors and Ray pitches half his games in an extreme hitters park. Arizona has been very good on the road this year with 19 wins in 35 games.

Clayton Richard (LHP - TOR) made his 2019 regular season debut on May 23, going four innings while yielding two hits and two walks against two strikeouts. He only threw 10.2 innings in spring training, and his only rehab start lasted 3.1 innings so he’s not up to speed with the rest of the league. Overall, Richard has made just three starts this year covering 13.1 innings. He has struck out nine batters and walked nine batters with a horrible 6% swing and miss rate and 53% first-pitch strike rate. Remember, Richard was a Padre the past three years and the Diamondbacks know him and have seen plenty of him while only one Blue Jay, Freddy Galvis has any real history v Ray. Finally, Clayton Richard’s lucky strand rate of 87% (highest among all 30 starters today) and also lucky .206 BABIP (lowest among all 30 starters today) is what’s keeping his ERA in check. His ERA of 5.46 is more accurate.

Now a little side dish: If you’re in Toronto visiting or on your way down to the Jays game this afternoon (or to see the Raps tomorrow) and you want to grab a bite, you can get the best BBQ chicken and burgers in the city at George's Deli & BBQ on the Southeast Corner of Bathurst and Bloor. This hidden gem in the Annex is a family run business with the most delicious BBQ chicken, burgers, pitas and more at great prices. They truly appreciate your business with the customer service always being top-notch. Seriously, stop by. You’ll be happy you did. 795 Bathurst St, Toronto. BTW, there is parking one block east of Bathurst in a big lot.
