7:40 PM EST. Max Scherzer (RHP - WAS) has 62 K’s and seven walks issued in 46 frames this year. Forget what you read about a decline in his skills because it’s not true. Dude is delivering like he always does and brings his 2.79 xERA into this start. While we have no idea what’s going to happen in this game, we have a big idea of where the value lies. In that regard, Jhoulys Chacin and Max Scherzer evenly price against one another is incorrect and we must try and take advantage.

Jhoulys Chacin (RHP - MIL) has posted an ugly 5.24 ERA after seven starts covering 34 innings. While that mark has been fueled in part by a 66% strand rate, his problems run far deeper. Blame his terrible command first in which Chacin has walked 18 batters in 34 frames with a 54% first-pitch strike rate. Chacin’s 36% ground-ball rate is a weak mark that is not suited for Miller Park. He doesn’t strike out many either. Chacin has a recent history of outpacing his xERA. Now check off a velocity dip and a fly-ball rising profile and be happy if he ends up on someone else's slate tonight. Chacin evenly priced against Scherzer? C’mon man. It’s not only preposterous, it’s the bargain of the day.
