1:05 PM EST. Chris Sale (LHP - BOS) pounds the plate with a dominant arsenal, rarely walking batters and striking them out with aplomb. His stuff is so good that hitters have a hard time squaring him up, which has prevented home runs from ever becoming a problem. Dude needs no introductions. That said, he hasn't quite been the same after returning from two stints on the DL last September. Pitching with reduced velocity, lesser control (Ball%), and was more hittable. Entering his age-30 season Chris Sale has proven one of the best, most consistent starting pitchers in the game. If healthy there is no questioning his abilities, but there is reason to believe that he may not be able to maintain this level of dominance if his left shoulder is not completely sound. Sale has started five games this year and has pitched past the fifth inning one time. The Red Sox are 0-5 in the games he has started and while his 7.43 ERA is certainly in line for regression, his xERA is still 4.92.

Tyler Glasnow (RHP - TAM) is the straight goods. He has posted a 1.53 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 29 IP. That nifty WHIP is the product of good control, which has been the result of his ability to pound the strike zone early (68% first-pitch strike rate) and often (33% ball%). It's significant growth from what he's shown in those areas in the past. His combination of high heaters and low breakers are wicked. Now throw in an elite 52% groundball rate and it’s going to take a day where we are way off our game to pass on this guy, playing for the Rays and taking back a tag like this one.
