8:10 PM EST. Carlos Rodon (LHP - CHW) is another highly touted White Sox starter who's yet to put it all together. Though he posted a sub-2.00 ERA in July and August of last year, an ugly September left his season totals looking much like those of previous years. That’s actually good news because we get the opportunity to buy him when his stock should be way higher. Rodon has able to boast a 2.89 ERA through his first five starts by keeping his heater consistently high-and-tight to right-handers, missing inside instead of over the plate, thus leading to poor contact and lots of K’s. Rodon has a BB/K split of 12/35 through 28 innings and while we would like to see the walks cut down, we’re willing to roll with him here because this is also a strong fade against Daniel Norris (RHP - DET).

Norris has appeared in four games thus far but three of those came in relief. In 13 innings this year, Norris has a pretty on paper 2.70 ERA, which is our cue to step in because it’s not legit. Norris has a BB/K split of 4/10 in 13 innings with a weak 7% swing and miss rate. He has a 2.70 ERA because of his 100% strand rate so far. Pay more attention to his 4.63 xERA and his 30%/30%/40% ground-ball/line-drive/fly-ball rates as a starter. Velocity drop adds ore concern, especially when combined with his ground-ball loss. Disaster %-heavy baseline says he'll do more harm than good, so let someone else take this plunge. Daniel Norris is great fade material.
