8:10 PM EST. We usually don’t get behind these elite starters because they are often overpriced but Seattle’s misleading record provides us with a rare opportunity to get behind a great pitcher like Gerrit Cole (RHP) at a bargain price. By comparison, if Tanaka and the Yanks are spotting -1½ and -115 against Mike Minor and the Rangers, Cole and the Astronauts should be even higher but it’s not. Gerrit Cole has thrived in Houston. In 146 innings, Cole has posted a 2.64 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 202 strikeouts. Reducing his two-seam fastball (4.8% swing and miss rate) usage, and throwing his slider (20% swing and miss rate) and curveball (14% swing and miss) more has boosted his strikeouts, which is the second-most strikeouts in the AL. With career-high skills, Cole's ability to mix his four-seam fastball with his secondary pitches has contributed to his great success and there are no signs of danger.

By contrast, Mike Leake is as fortunate as the team he pitches for but like said team, regression is inevitable and Mike Leake now becomes pure fade material. A rough stretch last year left Leake on the outs in St. Louis but like this year, any success has been laid at the feet of lady luck. Leake puts the ball in play and is always at the mercy of variance. His swinging strike rate is down to 6%. His fastball velocity tops off at 88 MPH and he can’t even be considered a crafty southpaw because he’s right-handed so let’s call him a soft-tossing righty. Leake has 16 K’s over his last 29 innings and just 86 K’s in 141 innings. In final analysis, he's an innings eater with good control that has to rely on all those hard hit balls to be at people. Bet accordingly.

PLEASE NOTE: One of the unique things about our website is that we provide write-ups every single day on every game we post. We’re not sure if everyone understands how time consuming that is and how difficult it is as well but if you do not, please try it one day and you’ll see.

That said, we’re not going to change that. We’ll have write-ups every single day like we always do but we’re also going to have another feature. You see, we post our games usually in the early afternoon or before 1:00 PM EST but there is a lot of movement and other intangibles that occur throughout the day that has influence on what we’re betting. Usually after 6:00 PM EST or thereabouts, we’re going to be adding other games that we’re betting on in a section called “add-ons” for today that we ARE NOT going to write up because it’s too time consuming and with an hour or less before the first game goes off, we just won’t have the time.

This is a feature that you will see on our home page with the other wagers and we’ll also tweet it out when our add-ons have been posted.
