8:10 PM EST. You’ll have to excuse us while we crap our pants in awe of the Yankees beating up on Dylan Covey and Reynaldo Lopez over the past two nights. The Yanks will now play the finale of this series before returning home tomorrow for a weekend set with the Rangers. Kidding aside, the Yanks are good but big holes in their lineup have been exposed with the absence of Gary Sanchez and Aaron Judge. A capable pitcher can navigate through this Yanks’ lineup and the White Sox will send one of their two capable pitchers out there for this one.

Prior to the 2016 season, Lucas Giolito was ranked as the top prospect in the Nationals organization and the number-one prospect overall, topping a cadre of arms to finish as the highest-ranked pitcher on scouts’ big board. Subsequently, Giolito was traded to the South Side for Adam Eaton but he has not come close to expectations and has actually fallen completely off the radar. In fact, Giolito has the highest home ERA (7.76) in the majors among qualified starters and like always, this market will place heavy emphasis on misleading surface numbers. We could probably write about three full pages about Giolito’s plight but let’s just say that he possesses filthy stuff and is on a path to become one of the true legit aces in this league. Giolito has dominated MLB hitters in the past and even last season, he dominated his last seven starts with the big league squad. Giolito stands 6'6" and weighs 255 pounds. He has perhaps the best two-pitch combination with his fastball/curve. His plus-plus fastball is heavy and lively and sits in the mid-90s. The curveball is a sharp two-plane offering that is also plus. His change-up has improved, giving him three good pitches. He has a clean, repeatable delivery and he pitches downhill. The problem with Giolito is control. When he’s walking guys, he gets into trouble but that’s a risk one has to take from time to time and it’s a risk that’s warranted here because of the price. When Giolito is throwing strikes, he’s as nasty and difficult to hit as any pitcher in the game. In seven starts at the end of last year for an awful team, Giolito went 3-3 with a 2.38 ERA and he’s going down that same path this year. He has posted a 3.19 ERA over his last five starts and a 4.22 xERA over his last seven starts. Watch this dude and watch him closely because he’s one of the most undervalued arms we’ve ever run into and is capable of throwing a gem anytime. Perhaps Giolito catches the Yanks unfocused here too.

We all know who Luis Severino (RHP) is. He’s an All-Star that’s having a big season but over his last five games, he has posted an ERA of 8.28. We don’t expect the light hitting White Sox to go off on Severino but it is possible and the South Side may not have to score a bunch if Giolito is on. That’s a risk worth taking.

PLEASE NOTE: One of the unique things about our website is that we provide write-ups every single day on every game we post. We’re not sure if everyone understands how time consuming that is and how difficult it is as well but if you do not, please try it one day and you’ll see.

That said, we’re not going to change that. We’ll have write-ups every single day like we always do but we’re also going to have another feature. You see, we post our games usually in the early afternoon or before 1:00 PM EST but there is a lot of movement and other intangibles that occur throughout the day that has influence on what we’re betting. Usually after 6:00 PM EST or thereabouts, we’re going to be adding other games that we’re betting on in a section called “add-ons” for today that we ARE NOT going to write up because it’s too time consuming and with an hour or less before the first game goes off, we just won’t have the time.

This is a feature that you will see on our home page with the other wagers and we’ll also tweet it out when our add-ons have been posted.
