1:10 PM EST. There isn’t much we can discuss regarding the Rays start by committee strategy. It’s working and nay continue to work but the more these relievers pitch, the more prone they’ll become to getting whacked. Remember, their relievers because they couldn’t make it as starters. What we know for sure is that the Rays stock has climbed dramatically practically overnight and we’ll look to take advantage.

The Angels were as much as a -121 favorite this morning but the market has taken hold of that number and have been pounding it ever since after the Rays easily took the first two games of this series. That overreaction provides with this opportunity to take back a nice price on a dog that opened as a somewhat significant road favorite and that is sending out a very reliable starter in Andrew Heaney (LHP).

Heaney is a post-hype prospect that earned high ratings way back before the 2015 season. He has dealt with countless injuries since then, spending 310 days on the DL and logging only 55 professional innings between 2016 and 2017. The southpaw owns a 3.64 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 111 strikeouts in 116 IP in 2018 and it’s completely legit. Heaney’s curveball (19% swing and miss rate) and change-up (15%) continue to miss bats consistently. Inducing more ground balls and increasing his infield fly-ball rate from 3.3% in 2017 to 11.9% in 2018 have helped his xERA. Throwing 64% first-pitch strikes backs his better than average control. His infield-fly-ball increase, soft-contact increase, and xERA say he can continue to thrive the rest of the way and live up to those lofty expectations he had as a minor-league prospect. Man, is this guy under the radar and now we get him at a sweet price because the Rays have clobbered the Halos in back-to-back games.
