2:10 PM EST. Brad Keller (RHP) starts for the Royals here and while his 3.43 surface ERA is not even close to being legit, that’s a story for another time. Keller does have a strong groundball tilt, which sits at 53% after 10 starts so let’s go with that for now, as this wager is all about fading the White Sox with their brutal starter going.

One could play the Royals at a small price but we like to go for the kill and will therefore play them to win by two or more runs (reverse run line). You see, it’s not often a team that is 40 games under .500 can feel good about much but the Royals are lovin’ this visit to the South Side with two wins in two games and 14 runs scored. Things do not get tougher for the visitor here against Reynaldo Lopez (RHP) either.

Lopez is a mess. He has a horrible BB/K split of 55/86 in 122 innings. That’s not even Double-A worthy. Carrying a fly-ball tilt and allowing harder contact (34%) does not bode well for any start. His below-average career control is always at big risk to do damage to his ERA and WHIP. When he pitches a good game or inning, it is all luck fueled, as his 6% swing and miss rate and hard contact against will attest to. Reynaldo Lopez is one of MLB’s worst starters with a 4.57/6.55 ERA/xERA split, a 28%/47% groundball/fly-ball split and he must be faded when he’s favored.
