8:10 PM EST. We absolutely love this spot for the Rockies after the Cardinals packed the joint this past weekend with a set against its biggest rival, the Chicago Cubs. Furthermore, the Cardinals/Cubs played on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball and this now becomes a letdown spot for this very average host.

Carlos Martinez (RHP) brings more risk than most realize based on his declining skills and health situation. Prior to going down, his skills in July (4.26 xERA) were his best marks since April, but his 6.3 K’s/9 and three swinging-strikes in his last start make his upside questionable once again. Martinez comes off the DL for the second time this year. He last pitched on July 19 so this was a brief DL stint but it’s still concerning. While he has a 3.39 ERA, his xERA of 4.72 is almost 1½-runs higher and he’s walking more batters than ever (48 in 96 innings) while striking out less. Lastly, current Rockies’ hitters own a .912 oOPS against Martinez over his career and that’s when he was really good.

Tyler Anderson (LHP) is another under the radar starter that has our attention. Forget his home ERA, although it’s not bad and let’s focus on everything else. For one, Anderson has a 3.48 ERA on the road and has tallied pure quality starts in three-straight "away" outings as well. He has 112 K’s in 121 innings and has a nifty 35 K’s in his last 35 innings. He’s under the radar for numerous reasons. First, he hasn’t had much market exposure because he plays for Colorado and because two DL stints (knee) last year cost him a big chunk of 2017. However, he flashed enticing skills when he was healthy and he seems to be getting progressively better with each passing month. Anderson traded some groundball percentage for swinging strikes but his solid xERA has remained unmoved. With Anderson in the middle of posting outstanding peripherals for the second month in a row, things look rather good for today's start, thus making this perhaps the biggest overlay on the board.

PLEASE NOTE: One of the unique things about our website is that we provide write-ups every single day on every game we post. We’re not sure if everyone understands how time consuming that is and how difficult it is as well but if you do not, please try it one day and you’ll see.

That said, we’re not going to change that. We’ll have write-ups every single day like we always do but we’re also going to have another feature. You see, we post our games usually in the early afternoon or before 1:00 PM EST but there is a lot of movement and other intangibles that occur throughout the day that has influence on what we’re betting. Usually after 6:00 PM EST or thereabouts, we’re going to be adding other games that we’re betting on in a section called “add-ons” for today that we ARE NOT going to write up because it’s too time consuming and with an hour or less before the first game goes off, we just won’t have the time.

This is a feature that you will see on our home page with the other wagers and we’ll also tweet it out when our add-ons have been posted.
