8:10 PM EST. Chase Anderson (RHP) is not living up to expectations. He owns a terrible 5.83 xERA over his last six starts. Five of his six starts at home have resulted in disasters, where he is 2-2 with a 6.23 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. Anderson had a stint on the DL earlier this season and has struggled in three of his four starts since coming back on May 21. A 7.24 ERA over his last three outings certainly isn't inspiring and neither is Anderson's 0-2 record against the Cubbies this season.

A five-run 11th inning did more than just get the Cubs a win last night, as that W propelled the North Side into first place in the National League Central. After another heartbreaking defeat, one has to wonder if the Cubbies are in the Brewers heads after the former has taken eight of the last nine contests from the latter. Cubs’ pitchers have limited the Brewers to just 11 runs over the first nine games these two sides have played this season so it’s reasonable to suggest they have the book on all these Brewers batters.

The move from Coors Field to Wrigley has done wonders for Tyler Chatwood's (RHP) strikeout rate, as he's posting a career-high of 8.18 K’s/9. In his last start against the Phillies, Chatwood allowed just one run and four hits in 4.2 frames. The reason Chatwood got the early hook was because of his high walk rate, but he's also one of the top groundball pitchers in the league, thus making him wild but effective. Chatwood has a tremendous groundball rate of 54.2% and he's also inducing infield flies at his highest rate ever. Another positive, Chatwood is also limiting home runs at a high rate with just 0.46 HR/9 and a 7% HR/FB rate. Chatwood might be putting guys on, but they aren't scoring, which at the end of the day is all that matters. Chatwood gets outs, Anderson does not.
